The Bothan is a contemporary larch-clad dwelling with uninterrupted views of Tarskavaig Bay. Cleverly designed with micro-cement floors and underfloor heating, it has a large open-plan living space complete with fully fitted kitchen, a generously-sized bedroom with en-suite bathroom, and a cloakroom area with storage. There is an outdoor seating area with a wooden love seat looking out of the bay.
The living space has a dining table and chairs and a large corner sofa. There is a smart TV, also a wood-burning stove for which some easy-start fire logs are provided. Additional logs can be bought locally. The kitchen is fitted with birch-ply units with a concrete work surface. There is a slimline dishwasher, fridge, microwave, toaster, an induction hob and oven. Tea, fresh coffee, sugar, herbs, spices, olive oil, salt and pepper are provided. The bedroom has wardrobe space and under-bed storage. The bed is king-sized with luxury cotton sheets. Muslin drapes offer diffused light, alternatively there are curtains for darkness. The large en-suite bathroom has a wet-room overhead shower. Upon entry to the Bothan there is a cloakroom area with a cupboard containing cleaning equipment and an iron and ironing board.
The Bothan is insulated, for a cosy, comfortable stay. It has south facing windows that slide open to allow easy access to the outdoors. In addition to the love seat, there are also sun loungers available for guest use. All towels and bedding will be provided. A hairdryer is supplied. There are games, books and jigsaws for your entertainment too.
The Bothan is the middle building of three on a slice of croft land called Number 8. The large building at the top of the plot houses a utility room for guests where there is a washing machine and tumble dryer, and plenty of space for hanging wet suits and drying walking clothes etc. Occasionally, the lower dwelling, the Airigh, has guests staying and there may be a dog on site but privacy is maintained by separate pathways. Please note paths are made from stonechips and wheeling suitcases can be difficult.
